Lion Way Properties is pleased to support VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation as the title sponsor of the 2020 Lion Way Properties Time to Shine gala.
The Time to Shine gala is one of the largest fundraising events in B.C.’s Asian community, featuring fine dining, contemporary décor and an exclusive selection of unique auction items. Since its launch in 2015, the gala has raised a total of $15.4 million to support the Future of Surgery campaign and other urgent needs in health care.
VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation aims to close its $60 million Future of Surgery campaign for the $145 million transformation of surgical facilities at both hospitals at the gala on February 1, 2020.
In December 2019, Lion Way Properties Founder and CEO, Willie Li and Director, William Sun met with VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation’s former President and CEO, Barbara Grantham and President and CEO, Angela Chapman, for a signing ceremony as the gala’s title sponsor and tour of the surgical facilities.

Ahead of the Lion Way Properties Time to Shine gala, Lion Way Properties and VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation held an exclusive preview event at Colliers International in Vancouver on January 9, 2020 to offer media and guests a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most colourful fundraising galas of the year.
Angela Chapman, President & CEO of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, Willie Li, Founder & CEO of Lion Way Properties, and Judy Leung and Pei Huang, Co-Chairs of the Lion Way Properties Time to Shine Gala shared details of the upcoming gala and the Future of Surgery campaign. Willie Li was presented with a plaque for his generous donation as he encouraged others to join him in giving back to the community.
Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Executive Chef Glenn Thompson, Chef John Carlo Felicella and members of the Culinary Team BC, who are sponsors of the gala, were onsite offering a live demo and exquisite samples of the culinary experience guests can expect from the gala on February 1. Event sponsors Buttermere Patisserie and 0-Five Rare Tea Bar were also onsite sharing exclusive, customized pastries and teas.
The preview event was highly attended by guests and media and generated excitement and momentum for further donations for the upcoming gala.

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation collaborated with the inaugural chair of the Time to Shine Gala, Cecilia Tse, Colliers International Senior VP-Asia Pacific to host a kickoff event for the 2020 Lion Way Properties Time to Shine Gala. Angela Chapman, President & CEO of VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation welcomed presenting sponsor, Willie Li, to the gala launch event.
